Crane, Jensen collect Hillsboro Speedway wins.

By Clay Light

Hillsboro, OR, July 2 1994

A good-sized crowd was on hand to witness two seperate programs - day and evening - displaying some amazing talent on several different types of machines. Jensen, who made the trek from Vancouver, B.C., was the winner of the first qualifying heat race aboard his Weslake, while Dave Darst won the second heat - both taking direct transfers. Oregon's Crane, the former AMA Expert dirt tracker, was the winner of the semi-final on a Jawa. Saturday afternoons main saw another of the several flat trackers on hand, Mike Budscadt, take the lead, only to lose it to Jensen. Budschadt then dropped to third as Crane got by. For the time being, Crane would have to be satisfied with second behind the Canadian, but ahead of Budshcadt, Darst and Craig Farnsworth. Saturday night's main event had Jensen leading Crane and Darst into turn one. Darst got by Crane, then finally by Jensen, to take the lead, with things then mixing it up between Crane and Jensen. With the checkered flag in sight, Crane got by Jensen and Darst slid out, with Crane right there to take the win aboard his Hap Jones/Toy Racing/Elliot Long/Mt. Hood Honda-sponsored Jawa.
